Early life of Khanyisile Zwane
Khanyisile Zwane was born and raised in Meadowlands, Soweto in Gauteng Province in South Africa. She is originally Ndebele but she inherited a Zulu name and Language from her father. She began acting in high school dramas and that build her confidence. [¹]

She obtained her formal training in acting and arts from different institutions. She attended DFL at the University of Witwatersrand, then Market Laboratory and Tsammu Playwrights to empower herself academically in arts. [ ²]
Acting Career of Khanyisile Zwane
Her career began back in 2015 when she made her television debut on Scandal. But before that she acted on theatre plays and educated herself in the matters of arts. The theatre plays she appeared and acted on include Blink directed by Rethabile Headbush and Tshepo Matlala which was produced by Khanyi Carol. Her other theatre work was on Eclipsed: Phifalo ya Ngwedi directed by Sylvaine Strike and was inspired by the tragedy at Life Esidimeni.
When she came to Scandal in 2015, Khanyisile landed the role of Gontse which was previously portrayed by Gabisile Tshabalala. She admitted that it wasn’t easy to fill the shoes worn by someone else before when commenting on replacing Gabisile.
“It’s difficult to play a role that’s already well-established, because of the audience’s existing relationship with the previous actress,” said Khanyi Zwane.
After making headlines on Scandal acting alongside Andile Sithole as her husband by the name of Ndumiso and Marjorie Langa (Gloria Legae) as her mother, she appeared on several short films and dramas. She appeared on a web series called Men Are Trash by Tshepo Boshielo. The film Men Are Trash collected few nominations and awards such as winning the Independent Shorts Awards for Best Web Series/TV pilot.
