The National Assembly passed the NIMET (Establishment) ACT 2003 on May 21, 2003, and the President assented to it on June 19, 2003, making it official and creating the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).
It is a federal government organization tasked with providing the federal government with meteorological advice on all matters, projecting, preparing, and interpreting government policy in the area, as well as issuing weather (and climate) forecasts for the safe operation of aircraft, ocean-going vessels, and oil rigs.

General Requirements for NIMET Recruitment 2025-2026
- As an applicant for Nigerian Meteorological Agency jobs, you be a Nigerian with valid means of identification like a National ID card or international passport
- You’re expected to have an least five (5) credits in either WAEC/GCE/NEC or NABTEB including English Language and Mathematics in not more than (2) sittings
- You should have either diploma, HND, B.Sc. or degree in a related field can apply
- You should possess good work team spirit
- You should be willing and ready to adhere to the rules and regulations guiding the commission
- The candidate applying must be analytical, competent, and ready to adapt to the new working environment
- Applicants that are computer-literate have an added advantage
- Ability to think strategically and holistically
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to pay adequate attention to detail
- Candidate should be willing to relocate to any part of the country if need be
- He or she should be able to work with less or no supervision
- Having working experience is an added advantage.

- Then log in to fill out the online application form
- Upload required documents
- Proofread your application
- Then submit
After you have submitted your application, it is necessary you print out the acknowledgment slip as it contains some of the details you might need for screening like the application number/ID.
