Fungisai 2 was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, on January 27, 1981. Fungisai began playing music when he was a little child. When she was a student at Mutoko High School, a secondary school, she founded a group called the Heaven Bound Family. After school, the group disbanded as everyone went their separate ways to live their lives. Fungisai claimed that Shuvai Wutawunashe had inspired her as a young girl.[1]

Fungisai has stated that she has always desired to be a musician. In 2000, she gave Elias Musakwa’s gospel performance a boost when one of his backup singers had to cancel due to illness. After that performance, she handed Musakwa her demo, which contained a few songs. A few weeks later, she received a call to record Tinokutendai Ishe, her debut album.

Fungisai has performed joint performances with artists like Jah Prayzah, Killer T, Mudiwa Hood, and others so far. [2]
