Here is the American Dental Admission Test ADAT 2024-2024 registration, Application, Exam Date, Syllabus, Test Centers, Exam appointment, Fees Details.  Dental Admission Test (DAT 2023): This educational test is designed to provide dental education for students wanting to be a dentist all over the United States of America (USA). DAT is administered year-round by Prometric test centers in the United States, and its territories (including Guam, Puerto, and Canada).

ADAT Eligibility Requirement:

  • The ADAT Program does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or marital status.
  • Successful candidates in the ADAT Program typically complete at least one year of college education, including courses in biology, and general and organic chemistry.
  • Most candidates complete two or more years of college before taking the test.
  • Candidates seeking admission to Canadian dental schools should confirm the acceptability of the DAT by Canadian schools prior to applying for the test.
  • After three attempts, applicants must submit their request in writing to datexam@ada.org and must include one of the following acceptable forms of evidence:
  • 1. Copy of a completed and submitted ADEA AADSAS application
  • 2. Letter of rejection from a dental school 
  • 3. Letter on school letterhead from a dental school admission officer encouraging the applicant to retest Letter on school letterhead from a college or university health professional advisor or instructor verifying the applicant is applying to dental school.

How to Apply ADAT Exam:

  • First of all, register for DENTPIN (unique personal identifier)
  • DENTPIN is used to uniquely identify candidates and their information.
  • Fill DENTPIN registration form and all details must be true and correct.
  • After DENTPIN registration, you can submit a DAT application. A fresh (new) application must be submitted each time you wish to take the DAT.
  • Fees are not transferable and not refundable.

Note:

  • If you do not schedule a testing appointment and take the DAT during this period, you will have to submit a new application and fee in order to take the test.
  • The testing Schedule period is 06 months (not extended).
  • DENTPIN and Application form details must be the same. Otherwise, the authority will not allow them to seat in the examination.

Application Correction:

  • Candidates who can make corrections in the application form (name, birth date, etc.) must be completed at least two weeks prior to your scheduled testing appointment.
  • Candidates are responsible for identifying any corrections or omissions and must notify the Department of Testing Services at dentpin@ada.org

Schedule a Testing Appointment:

  • After the application process, the Department of Testing Services will send you an email with scheduling instructions.
  • You may then call 800.688.5804 or visit Prometric.com to schedule your appointment to take the DAT.

DAT Administration Schedule:

  • Optional Tutorial = 15 minutes
  • Survey of Natural Sciences = 90 minutes
  • Perceptual Ability Test = 60 minutes
  • Scheduled Break (optional) = 30 minutes
  • Reading Comprehension Test = 60 minutes
  • Quantitative Reasoning Test = 45 minutes
  • Optional Post-Test Survey = 15 minutes

Total Time = 5 hours

Documents:

Do not submit the following documents:

  • Handwritten letters from healthcare professionals
  • Handwritten patient records or notes from a patient chart
  • Diagnoses on a prescription pad
  • Self-evaluations
  • Research articles
  • Original documents; submit copies only
  • Previous DAT Program correspondence
  • Correspondence from educational institutions or testing agencies not directly addressed to the DTS.

Fees Reschedule Fee: :

  • DAT fees: 460 $
  • 1 to 5 business days (before 24 hours) = $100
  • 6 to 30 business days = $60
  • 31 or more business days = $25

Note: Inform prior to the testing appointment

Partial Fee Waiver:

  • Candidates must register for a DENTPIN then submitting a fee waiver request.
  • Eligibility Requirements for Partial Fee Waiver:
  1. Demonstrated financial hardship
  2. First time taking the DAT
  3. U.S. citizen or resident person
  4. Received financial aid at his/her educational institution

Note: Applicants who have previously received a fee waiver or who have already taken the DAT are not eligible.

  • Fee waiver financial information form (www.ada.org/dat)
  • Educational institution financial aid award letter
  • Completed DAT application (submitted after approval/denial decision)https://dts.ada.org
