Medical College Admission Test (shortly called MCAT) is a standardized computer-based exam. The candidates take part in this exam so as to get admission into a medical institute abroad. The test is administered by AAMC (aka American Association of Medical Colleges).

Eligibility Criteria for US MCAT
A candidate is eligible to apply for this test if he/she has to attend a health professional institute/school including Allopathic, Veterinary, Osteopathic & Pediatric Medicine. If you are currently pursuing or have completed an MBBS degree program, you can appear in this examination.
However, if the above circumstances do not apply to anyone then the candidate needs to ask for “special permission” from AAMC prior to applying for this test. You will have to drop an e-mail to the ID of [email protected], stating the reason you want to take part in the exam. It usually takes a period of 7 days to get a response thus it is advisable to be careful with the deadlines. The candidates also require a valid passport as an id-proof.
Important dates for US MCAT 2025-2026:
The test is held 25 times a year. One can visit the official site so as to check several dates on which this test called MCAT is held in several countries. An applicant must plan to take part in the MCAT for a year. The score of this test is mostly valid for 2-3 years, & this test can be taken up to a maximum of 3 times in a year & 7 times in a lifetime.
Exam centres in India:
Indian candidates do not like this fact regarding the details of the MCAT centre in India that this test does not have any exam centres in India. The candidates of India are needed to travel abroad so as to appear in the MCAT test. Countries in which MCAT takes place are Thailand, Malaysia or Singapore, etc.
It is held in 19 international locations, & the registration process is the same for US & international applicants. However, you need to pay a 90$ additional fee if you’re registering for a non-US test centre.
Exam fees:
MCAT costs $310 if you are registering during the normal window which means about a month or more before the test date), but the fees get hiked up if one registers for this test late. There are additional fees for location or date changes. Hence, an Indian applicant in the best-case scenario has to shell out US $400 for appearing in the MCAT. In Indian Rupees, the MCAT fee is INR 25,750 (approx) at the current Dollar-Rupee rate.

- Then click on the option MCAT option which will be found under the Pre-Medical Student’s head.
- Then sign in into your account simply by typing your Username & Password
- If you are a New User then you will have to Sign up by clicking on the ‘Create New Account’ option.
- To sign up, you must type in your Email Id, Name and other important details like contact info.
- Then you will get a Username & Password
- Now login into the same account and complete the registration process by fill the remaining details.
