To review and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and governance processes, through the planning and execution of audit engagements in compliance with the IIA’s International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards); and to represent Internal Audit Unit in other matters as may be assigned
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Activities – 75%
- Evaluation of systems in terms of adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and corporate governance.
- Assessment of risk for purposes of audit planning
- Preparation and execution of audit programs and production of audit reports for further review and approval.
- Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations.
- Supervision and review of Internal Auditor’s work.
- Carrying out advisory, investigations and other special assignments as assigned
Office Administration – 25%
- Assist the Head Internal Audit in preparing and subsequently monitoring audit plans and programs which ensure, among others, proper co-ordination of Internal Audit activities.
- Assist Head Internal Audit in determining training needs and implementing training programs for internal auditors.
- Assist Head Internal Audit with determination and implementing the Internal Audit policies and practices.
- To be focal point on the administration of the Internal Audit Management System
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- CIA,CISA,ACCA,CIMA or Bachelor’s degree in a business related field such as Accounts, Business Administration , Law, Information Technology.
- At least 5 years’ experience in auditing in an active environment
- Good working knowledge of internal audit working practices and the IIA Standards
- Good working knowledge of TeamMate Internal Audit Management System
